The campaign of the Women's Centre "Milica" from Vrnjačka Banja and cycling caravan "Give cancer a pedal in 2016.”

On the occasion of October, the international breast cancer awareness month, National Cancer Screening Office supported the campaign of the Women's Centre "Milica" from Vrnjačka Banja, "Give cancer a pedal in 2016.".


On Saturday, 1rd October 2016, in the Republic Square in Belgrade, within the campaign " Give cancer a pedal” of the Women's Centre "Milica”, started the cycling caravan "Give cancer a pedal 2016.”. Ministry of Health of Serbia, The Institute of Public Health of Serbia "Dr Milan Jovanović  Batut”, tennis federation, cycling associations and local governments and institutes of public health of cities: Kragujevac, Čačak, Kraljevo and Užice supported the second time in the row campaign " Give cancer a pedal in 2016.".


The aim of the caravan, which started in Belgrade, is that through cycling and physical activity, connect people from different cities and to give support to all those who are struggling with breast cancer, as well as to draw attention to the importance of preventive examinations in order to reduce mortality from this disease.


Vesna Bondžić, president of the Women's Center "Milica", Dr. Vesna Knjeginjić, Ministry of Health, Deputy Minister, Department for public health and health care programs, prof. dr Vesna Kesić, Head of the subcommittee for cervical cancer screening of the Republic Expert Committee, president of the Association for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and Serbian President of ESGO in the previous term, addressed all gathered at the Republic Square, as cycling caravan started its journey through the towns of Serbia towards Vrnjačka Banja.
