Student Conference - Improving communication between (future) doctors and women suffering from breast cancer took place from October 23 - 24, 2015. Zlatibor, hotel Čigota, under the auspices of the USA Embassy in Serbia.

 

 

Uroš Rakić, PhD, independent advisor at national cancer screening office, represents the National cancer screening office and gave a lecture on the topic: "ORGANIZED BREAST CANCER SCREENING PROGRAMME IN REPUBLIC OF SERBIA. EPIDEMIOLOGICAL INDICATORS AND IMPORTANCE OF QUALITY DATA COLLECTION AND SIGNIFICANCE OF DATA COLLECTION AND VISUALIZATION IN A GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM"

 

 

Doc. Dr. Ivan Marković (Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia) gave a lecture on the topic: "ONCOLOGY IN SERBIA YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND TOMORROW. THE ETIOLOGY AND DIAGNOSIS OF BREAST CANCER"

 

 

Dr Maja Gulan, a surgeon from the General Hospital Užice, and a representative of Counseling "Jefimija" Užice, held a lecture on the topic: "THE TREATMENT OF BREAST CANCER"

 

 

Slavica Simić, psychologist (Counseling "Jefimija" in Užice), spoke on the theme: "SPECIFIC SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS THAT INFLUENCE THE OCCURRENCE AND TREATMENT OF BREAST CANCER"

 

 

On the second day of the Student Conference was organized "workshops" where students are divided into groups had the opportunity to talk to women who have breast cancer.

 

 

The meeting was welcomed on behalf of the Embassy of USA in Serbia, Erika Kuenne (cultural attaché of the US Embassy).
